MOSAIC vehicle bets on protection and stealth
MOSAIC has a low silhouette and rear engine to reduce its signature and features major innovations in the field of ballistic protection. Soframe developed the platform focusing on the French VBAE programme.
Focusing on the French Armoured Vehicle for Engagement Support (VBAE) programme, Soframe has developed the Mission Observation Surveillance Acquisition Investigation Combat (MOSAIC) project, as a new light reconnaissance and support vehicle with stealth capabilities.
Soframe (a subsidiary of the Alsace-based LOHR Group) started working on the new vehicle three years ago and unveiled MOSAIC on 5 February.
Published 3D concept images depict a five-door 4x4 design with room for two to four people. A spokesperson for the company explained to Shephard that MOSAIC has a low silhouette and rear engine in order to reduce front and top IR signature,
